Guildford, Surrey · GU1 – GU5
Professional CCTV, door entry, access control and electric gate installation for homes and businesses across Guildford and the surrounding villages. Designed around your property and fitted by our engineers.
CCTV installation in Guildford is rarely the same job twice. The county town has a busy shopping centre around the cobbled High Street, large employers on the Surrey Research Park and Guildford Business Park, shared student houses near the University of Surrey and family homes stretching out towards the Surrey Hills. Each of those needs cameras in different places, so the first thing we do is work out which one you have.
Regency Security has designed and installed CCTV, door entry, access control and electric gates across Surrey since 1999. Every Guildford project starts with a free survey and an itemised written quote that shows what each camera will cover, and ends with the phone app set up and demonstrated before we leave.
Townhouses in the streets below the castle, family homes in Stoughton and Burpham and larger detached houses in Merrow all have different weak spots. Most need the front door, the drive and the side gate covered, and gardens that back onto footpaths or open land need a camera on the rear boundary too. We fit 4K cameras with colour night vision, so faces and number plates stay sharp after dark, and tune the motion alerts to pick out people and vehicles rather than foxes and wind-blown hedges.
Parts of central Guildford are conservation areas, and many shops, cafés and offices on the High Street and its side streets trade from listed or historic buildings. Cameras there still need a clear view of faces at the door and the till, but they should not dominate the frontage. We choose compact cameras in a colour that suits the building, keep fixings away from historic stonework and route cables inside wherever we can.
Around Onslow Village, Park Barn and the roads between the town centre and the University of Surrey, many houses are let to students or shared by young professionals. Landlords want a front door that locks behind every tenant and entry that can be reset between tenancies without calling a locksmith. Door entry in Guildford HMOs is usually a video panel on the front door with keypad or Paxton fob entry, so when the tenants change you cancel the old fobs and codes and issue new ones. A camera on the entrance and bin store, angled away from bedroom windows and next door, completes the system.
Town-centre shops and restaurants, offices on the Surrey Research Park and Guildford Business Park, and units on the Slyfield and Woodbridge Meadows estates each need something different. Typical projects include:
Beyond Merrow, and south towards Shalford, Bramley and Shere, houses sit further back on longer drives, often with garages, stables or a garden office. If you are thinking about electric gates in Guildford or the villages around it, we check the width, slope and surface of the drive at the survey and recommend sliding or swing gates to suit. An intercom at the entrance can ring your phone, and a camera on the gate records every caller and vehicle. Before handover the gate is force tested with its photocells and safety edges in place, following Gatesafe guidance under our registration #2187.

FAQs
Cameras on a house or shop do not usually need planning permission, but fixing them to a listed building can need listed building consent, and prominent equipment in a conservation area may need checking. Parts of central Guildford fall into both groups. We flag it at the survey, keep cameras small and cables inside, and the council's planning team can confirm the position for your building.
Yes. We install Paxton Net2, which is managed from a PC on site, and Paxton10, which runs from a web browser or app. Each member of staff gets their own fob or card, doors such as server rooms and stores can be limited to the people who need them, and every entry is logged. A video entry panel at reception lets you see visitors before you let them in.
We usually combine 4K cameras on the gate, loading doors and parked vehicles with a long-range or PTZ camera for open ground, and set alerts that reach your phone when someone crosses the boundary after closing. ANPR at the entrance logs every number plate, and a sliding gate or rising-arm barrier keeps vehicles out while the site is shut.
Usually, yes. We work on systems fitted by other companies, so we can check what you have, add cameras the recorder supports, replace any that have failed and set up the app on your phone. If the old recorder cannot handle modern 4K cameras, we explain the options and price them separately.
