Who we are
This website is run by Regency Security Ltd ("we", "us"). We install and maintain CCTV, door entry, access control and electric gates. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
If you have a question about this policy or your data, contact Steve by email at steve@regencysecurityltd.com or by phone on 01293 862865.
What we collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to give us. When you send our enquiry form, we receive:
- your name and phone number
- your email address, if you give it
- the postcode of the property
- the service you're interested in and, if you choose one, the type of property
- any message you write
- the web address (URL) of the page you sent the form from, and confirmation that you ticked the consent box
The form also asks you to answer a simple sum so we know you're a person. Your answer is checked in your browser and is not sent to us.
If you phone or email us instead, we keep the details you give us and use them in the same way.
How we use your data
- to reply to your enquiry and answer your questions
- to arrange and carry out a free site survey
- to prepare and send you a quote
- if you go ahead, to plan and carry out the work and support you afterwards
We don't sell your details, and we won't use them for marketing or pass them to anyone else to market to you.
Our lawful basis
UK data protection law says we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on:
- Steps before entering into a contract, when we respond to your request for a survey or quote, and performance of a contract if you then go ahead with the work.
- Legitimate interests, for running our business sensibly, such as keeping a record of enquiries and protecting our form from spam.
- Legal obligation, for records we have to keep by law, such as accounts and tax records.
The consent tick on our form confirms you're happy for us to contact you about your enquiry. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers, known as processors, who handle data on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Formspree, Inc. receives and stores the enquiries sent through our form and forwards them to us by email. Formspree is based in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are in place as UK data protection law requires. Formspree may also record technical details, such as your IP address, to block spam.
- GitHub Pages, run by GitHub, Inc., hosts this website. Like most web hosts, its servers log visitors' IP addresses for security and to keep the service running.
- Our email provider stores the enquiries we receive and our replies.
If our form can't send in the usual way, your browser may pass you to a Formspree page to finish sending your enquiry. That page is covered by Formspree's own privacy policy.
Apart from these providers, we only share your information if the law requires us to.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies. We don't use analytics, advertising or social media trackers. Our fonts and images are stored on this website rather than loaded from other companies, so browsing the site doesn't send your details to font, analytics or advertising services.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, including support after installation. If you become a customer, we also keep the records we must keep by law, such as invoices and accounts, for as long as the law requires. After that, we delete them.
Keeping your data secure
We limit access to your details to the people who need them to deal with your enquiry, and we use reputable providers that protect the data they hold for us.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- rectification, so inaccurate or incomplete data is corrected
- erasure, so your data is deleted in certain circumstances
- restriction, so we limit how we use your data
- object to us using your data where we rely on legitimate interests
- data portability, so you receive data you gave us in a commonly used format
To use any of these rights, email or call us using the details above. We'll respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
